WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DATOVKA AND A DATA BOX?

The Data Mailbox is an electronic tool managed by the state (the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic) for communication between citizens, businesses, and authorities in the Czech Republic. The use of the Data Mailbox is legally established and allows for the electronic submission of official documents, applications, or complaints. You can access the Data Mailbox through the official web portal mojedatovaschranka.cz.

There are several ways to log into the Data Mailbox portal:

Using a username and password (optionally with an additional authentication method)
Via the Mobile Key linked to the ISDS user account
Using one of the authentication methods of the Citizen Identity service

Datovka is an application that allows users to log into the Data Mailbox and also serves as a tool for managing Data Mailboxes. Datovka offers an alternative to the web portal’s functions (e.g., permanent local storage of data messages, archiving, offline access to stored messages, or advanced search within stored messages). A significant advantage of Datovka is the ability to work with an unlimited number of Data Mailboxes simultaneously.
